EAR was our 2010-11 Education and Research project

Funded by Arts Council England and presented in partnership with The Octopus Collective.

EARĀ presented a lecture from Sound Recordist Chris Watson at Barrow Dock Museum. Chris, best known for his work with David Attenborough for the BBC, played a series of his extraordinary recordings and talked about his own work as an artist and musician.

"Spit Valve"
EAR also commissioned "Spit Valve" a piece of work from Sound Artist Paul Rooney in partnership with local musician Gary Abbott. The piece was presented at Barrow Park Bandstand as part of FON festival of Contemporary Music and Sound Art and Paul spoke about his work to Arts Foundation students at Barrow Sixth Form College.

Barrow Island School
EAR deliveredĀ a programme of sound recording, performance and editing sessions for Barrow Island School, the resulting work was broadcast on Barrow Island as part of the FON festival of Contemporary Music and Sound Art.
Our thanks to the Cumbria Community Fund for thier support with our work at Barrow Island and at other schools in Barrow in recent years.
